Alexis Azria contributes to Reachoutrecovery.com, Medium, and the former FocusDirectionRecovery.com(FDR.com). Her articles, with over 800K reads, explore parenting and social issues, concentrating on solutions for young adults entering relationships, college, and the workforce. In response to her posts on sexual assault for FDR.com, she developed a multi-media pilot program called “Raising Awareness on Campus Assault” for high school seniors.  This program gave students the tools to become effective bystanders and help recognize predatory behavior. Her short fiction has appeared in Confrontations, Rattapallax, and the Appalachian Journal.

Ms. Azria’s commitment to mission-driven organizations included serving on the board of Action Against Hunger, where she chaired the development committee and yearly gala that typically raised $1M+ annually. Over a four-year period, she doubled fundraising revenues, setting a record despite the lingering effects of the global economic downturn, and secured major gifts by promoting several nonprofits’ visibility to high-net-worth individuals and corporations. The keys to her success have been thinking outside the box, facilitating philanthropic connections, and collaborating with like-minded partners. She currently helps European nonprofits expand in the U.S., developing fundraising strategies and major donor outreach. Both the Jewish Women’s Foundation of New York and Our Soldiers Speak recognized her philanthropic leadership and honored her, respectively.

A WVU and Hunter College graduate, Ms. Azria earned degrees in Journalism, English Literature, and French. She has dual French-U.S. citizenship and is fluent in French, Spanish, and Italian.
